Dear Friends and Readers,

Last year I sent you a letter about helping to support a video about the quest for longer-lived dogs, which the German filmmaker Philipp Hampl and his crew shot here in Kelly. Thank you very much to all of you who made a contribution! Your generous financial support helped to finish the half-hour-long video. The Quest for Longer-lived Dogs—At Pukka’s is now ready for renting or buying at https://vimeo.com/ondemand/qvc.

The video covers many of the subjects I wrote about in Pukka’s Promise and is also an intimate portrait of the life that Pukka and his friends A.J. and Burley enjoy here in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

There will be a part 2 of the video, which will describe how people are trying to reform unhealthy breed standards. Philipp is now working on it, and it will feature breeders and activists in the US and the UK, including Jemima Harrison, the filmmaker who in 2008 made the groundbreaking film, Pedigree Dogs Exposed.

I hope you enjoy the film and that you’re having a fine summer. Pukka and I just returned from running the Main Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho, and you can see some photos at our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TedKerasote/.

All our best,
Ted and Pukka
